Hardknox Baseball Development is excited and proud to announce that 2018 MIF/OF Mick Moody has signed a scholarship to continue his education and baseball career at Mercer University. Moody, a graduate of Jackson High School, will join the Bears program in the Fall of 2018.
Moody has been a member of the Hardknox organization since the beginning and is the son of Hardknox Baseball Development's owner Mickey Moody. Mick has predominantly been a middle infielder during his time at HK, but will be asked to play in the outfield by the Mercer University coaching staff. The Mercer staff believes Moody is athletic enough and possesses the speed to play oufield at the Division I level. A prototypical lead-off hitter, Moody is an offensive threat with his ability to get on base and put pressure on the opposing defense. He has the ability to bunt for a hit and enough pop to drive balls into the gaps. Mercer head coach, Craig Gibson, really feels that Mick is a player who fits the Bears style of play perfectly and looks for him to make an immediate impact.
Congratulations to Mick Moody and his family. We look forward to seeing him compete at the next level!
