Mickey Moody – Owner/CEO

Mickey, a Griffin , Georgia native and former standout baseball football player for Griffin High School, currently serves as the Owner Hardknox Baseball Development, formerly owned by Major Leaguer Dallas McPherson.  Additionally, Mickey served as a High School Head Coach for Jackson High and Spalding High over the last 18 years.  Currently, Mickey is the Head Coach at Jackson High school

A four year college letterman, Moody attended Southern Union where he played for the legendary Joe “Jabo” Jordan.  As an infielder, he helped guide his team to the 1990 Alabama State Title with an overall record of 51-11.  In the summer of 1991 Moody was selected as NYCBL All-star and played for the Cohoction Red Wings located in Cohocton , New York .  After a 2 year stint at Southern Union, Moody signed and played at 2 time National Champion (1990-1991) and powerhouse Jacksonville State University under the direction of Alabama Baseball Hall of Fame inductee, Rudy Abbot.  As a senior, Moody transferred to Armstrong Atlantic and helped guide his team to a #1 National Ranking and a Peachbelt Regular Season Conference Title.  Joe Roberts, his coach; currently holds the all-time record for wins at the NCAA Division II level.   About his college experience, Moody says” I was fortunate to have played for three of the best dynamic teachers of the game during my college tenure, close to 4000 wins between the three…The Knowledge that was passed down is the basis of my coaching philosophy today.”

Mickey and his wife Melissa reside in Pike County, GA and have three children, Casey (24), Mick (17),and Micah (13).  He has earned a Masters Degree from University of Alabama and an Ed.S in Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University.

 

 

Thomas Briscoe – General Manager

Thomas Briscoe is in his fourth year at Hardknox Baseball Development. He comes to HK after 4 years of coaching college baseball (3 years at Georgia Perimeter College in Covington, GA and 1 year at Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, GA). At Georgia Southwestern State University he coached under Bryan McLain and was responsible for outfielders. He coached under Head Coach Danny Blue for three seasons at GPC and was responsible for infielders. He helped produce the Gold Glove winner at shortstop for Region 17 in 2009. The GPC program produced a record of 106-65, including the 2009 GJCAA regular season conference championship. The GPC program also sent many players to the NCAA Division I, Division II, and professional ranks. Prior to GPC, Briscoe was an assistant at Jackson High School in Jackson, Ga. in 2007.  He was an assistant to the JV and the Varsity under head coach David Fletcher. In 2004, Briscoe was an assistant for Henderson Middle School in Jackson, Ga. for head coach Charlie Biles. He was responsible for the pitching staff that produced a league best 1.73 team ERA. Coach Briscoe played for one season, 2002-2003, at Gordon College in Barnesville, Ga. for head coach Travis McClanahan. Coach Briscoe is a graduate of Jackson High School where he played for Head Coach Mickey Moody. After four years with HK Baseball, Coach Briscoe holds a 101-44-9 record; including 6 Tournament Championships. He currently serves as the Assistant/Pitching Coach at Jackson High School and is a part-time private instructor for HK specializing in Pitching, Defense, and Hitting lessons. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management and a Master’s Degree in Post-Secondary Education.
